The modern airliner
The Boeing 777, also known as the Triple Seven, is a twin-engine wide-body long-range airliner by Boeing for 300 to 550 passengers. It is the largest twin-engine airliner in the world and, thanks to ETOPS certification (since early 2012 also ETOPS 330), it is also suitable for intercontinental routes. The individual variants of the Boeing 777 differ significantly in length and range.
The maiden flight of the basic version, the Boeing 777-200, took place in 1994. Comparable models to the Boeing 777 are the Airbus A330, A340 and A350, as well as the Ilyushin Il-96. As of June 2024, 1734 aircraft of this type have been delivered.
